Bad news, but good news

I found out tonight that one of my sisters in Christ committed suicide 30 minutes before church service. She was a middle aged woman. I didn’t know her, but the only thing I did know was that she was my sister. It was sad indeed when someone told me. The tears did come. Committing suicide goes along with “Thou shalt not kill”

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” —Romans 13: (ESV)

because we are harming the life God gave us. If we hurt ourselves, we’re hurting Him and others who truly really care and love us.

The good news is that one of my bestest friends put Christ in baptism tonight. I’m so proud of her for making that decision! I’ve always been proud of her and the small steps she has taken to be where she is now. I’m so thankful that she’s in my life and I love her with all my heart! God has been working with her and those who have worked with her and I pray that He will continue to work with her and all of us to be examples to her. May God bless her and be with her as she starts her new life!
